Why Facilities Stick With Us

How a dock repair holds up over the following weeks is what counts. We stay with the job after our truck leaves, and we keep you in the loop while we are on site.

We return to check the work
After a repair or installation, we set up a check-back visit. We see how the leveler, door or restraint performs with real traffic and fine-tune anything that has shifted or settled.
Plain care steps for your crew
We show your dock staff what to look for and what to keep clean, in everyday language. A few habits, such as clearing debris from the leveler pit and flagging a slow hydraulic return, head off many breakdowns.
Honest repair-or-replace advice
When a part can be fixed, we tell you. When a 20-year-old leveler costs more in service calls than it is worth, we tell you that as well and show you the reasons.
Photos and estimates in writing
You see the same things we do. We take pictures of worn hinges, cracked lip plates and frayed door cables, and every item of the job is written down before work starts.
Scheduled around your trucks
We find out when trucks arrive and leave and plan our work around those times when possible. Working one door at a time keeps the rest of the dock running.

A Dock Company That Stays Involved

Loading Dock Repair McAdoo works with warehouses, manufacturers, grocery and retail receiving docks and logistics companies across this part of Pennsylvania. Our job is simple to describe: keep trailers loading safely and keep your doors opening and closing on time.

We built our service around the part most companies skip, which is the follow-up. Equipment that sees dozens of trailers a day, plus long winters and road salt tracked in on every truck, wears in ways that only show up after it is back in use. Checking back lets us catch a loose bolt or a door that needs a spring adjustment before it becomes downtime.

How a Dock Repair Runs With Us

Most jobs follow the same four steps, and none of them leave you guessing about what comes next.

  1. 1

    Talk it through by phone

Tell us what the equipment is doing, how many doors you run and when your dock is quietest. We set a visit time that fits your shipping schedule.

  2. 2

    Inspect and estimate

We inspect the leveler, door, restraint or seal, photograph the problem and write up a line-item estimate. You decide what to do and when.

  3. 3

    Do the work safely

We lock out the equipment, block off the work area and keep your staff clear. When we finish, we test the repair with your crew watching and clean up the area.

  4. 4

    Check back and coach

A few weeks later we return or call to confirm everything is working under load. We go over the care steps again and answer questions your team has collected since.

What Moves the Price of Dock Work

Dock repair costs depend on the equipment, its condition and how much of your operation has to pause while we work. We explain each factor before you agree to anything. Here is what usually makes the biggest difference.

We give you a written line-item estimate once we have seen the equipment, so you know what each part of the job covers before work begins. Prices are not quoted over the phone without an inspection.

Type of equipment
Each piece of dock equipment has its own parts list and its own labor time. Servicing a spring-driven mechanical leveler is a different job from rebuilding a hydraulic cylinder, and high speed doors and vehicle restraints bring their own controls and wear points.
Condition underneath
What we find once panels come off matters most. Rusted pit framing, a cracked deck weld or a bent door track can turn a simple adjustment into a structural repair.
Parts availability
Common wear parts are often on hand. Older or discontinued equipment may need sourced or fabricated parts, which adds cost and lead time.
Access and scheduling
Work done on nights or between shifts to keep your dock open can cost more than a weekday slot. We lay out both options so you can choose.
Number of doors
Servicing several dock positions in one visit usually costs less per door than separate trips.

Questions Facility Managers Ask Us

Something not covered here? (570) 526-4929

What does your warranty cover?

Our repairs come with a 1-year labor warranty. If our workmanship causes a repair to fail within that year, we come back and fix it. The coverage is written into your estimate so you know it up front.

Should we fix our troublesome leveler or replace it?

Common problems include lips that stop short, decks that sink after being raised, a jerky hydraulic return and welds beginning to split. We look the leveler over, take photos of each problem and tell you honestly what we'd do. When a repair will solve it, we recommend the repair and don't push new equipment.

Will our other doors keep working while you're on site?

In most cases. We take one dock position out of service at a time and work around your truck schedule so trailers keep moving at the other doors. Larger jobs can happen off-shift if you prefer.

How often does dock equipment need preventative maintenance?

That depends on your traffic. A distribution center running trailers all day generally needs visits more often than a store getting a few deliveries each week. With our preventative maintenance service, we look at how you use the dock and suggest a schedule.

What comes after a repair is done?

We operate the equipment alongside your staff, clean the area and go over care steps. Once it has seen normal use, we check back to make sure it still works right and answer any questions that have come up.

Do you put in new equipment as well as repair it?

Yes. Through our loading dock equipment sales and installation, we supply dock levelers, vehicle restraints, overhead doors, high speed doors and rolling grilles, and we help you choose what fits your trailers and traffic.

Will we see the price before you start?

Always. After the inspection you get a written line-item estimate with photos of the problem, and nothing starts until you approve it.
