Overhead Door Repair in McAdoo
We repair, adjust and replace parts on commercial overhead doors at loading docks and facility entrances: springs, cables, panels, tracks, operators and seals. After the work, we check back to make sure the door is running right and show your crew what to watch for.

Dock doors that open, close and seal the way they should
A loading dock door can go up and down dozens of times in one shift. Each trip strains the springs, wears down the rollers and stretches the cables a bit further. Once something fails, the door either quits or runs poorly, and a door that comes down lopsided or leaves a gap wastes heat, product and time.
Our work covers the sectional steel doors and operators used at warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing plants and store receiving docks. We look for the reason a door failed as well as the part that broke, so you are not calling about the same problem a month later.
Finishing the repair is not where we stop. We follow up once the door has been through some regular shifts, and we show your team the easy care steps that keep it in good condition.
What we fix on commercial dock doors
Spring, cable and drum service
Before fitting a replacement for a worn-out spring, we size it to what your door actually weighs. We then tension it so the door stays put at mid-height instead of falling or shooting upward. Lift cables showing frays and drums with wear are replaced on the same visit.
Damaged door sections
Hits from trailers and forklifts dent sections and split hinges. We put in new sections where needed and straighten or replace hardware so the door travels straight.
Track, roller and hinge work
Track that is bent or loose causes a door to catch and hop. We bring track back into line or replace it, fit new rollers where the old ones are worn and secure the mounts so travel is smooth.
Openers and safety equipment
Door operators, limit settings, photo eyes and reversing edges get repaired and set correctly. We test the safety reversal before the door goes back into use.
Bottom astragals and weather seals
Ripped bottom seals and tired weatherstripping around the frame let in cold, rain and pests. We fit new ones so the door shuts snug to the floor and jambs.
Signs your overhead door needs attention
A loud bang near the top of the door
That is usually a torsion spring snapping. Stop using the door and keep people clear until it is repaired.
The door closes crooked or leaves a gap
One side lower than the other points to a stretched cable, a worn drum or a bent track. It gets worse with every cycle.
Grinding, scraping or shaking in travel
Worn rollers and misaligned track make noise before they fail. Catching it early is a small repair.
Daylight around the edges
If you can see light under or beside a closed door, the seals are done. In a northeastern Pennsylvania winter, that gap shows up on your heating bill.
The operator reverses or won't respond
Misaligned photo eyes, worn limit switches or a door that has gone out of balance can all cause this. Forcing it usually makes it worse.
How a repair visit goes
- 1
We listen first
On the phone, tell us which door, what happened and how your dock schedule runs. We plan the visit around your receiving and shipping times where we can.
- 2
Inspect and explain
On site we look over the whole door, not just the broken part. You get a plain explanation of what we found and what it will take to fix before any work starts.
- 3
Repair, balance and test
We make the repair, balance the springs, set the operator limits and run the door through full cycles. We check the safety reversal and clean up our work area before we leave.
- 4
Follow up and care tips
We show your crew what to watch and what not to do, like using the door as a bumper stop. Then we check back after it has seen regular use to make sure it is still running right.
What affects the cost of overhead door repair
Most door repairs come down to which parts failed and how much of the door they took with them. A single snapped spring is a very different job from a door that was hit by a trailer. We explain the work and the reasons for the price before we start.
- Door size and weight
- Larger, heavier dock doors need heavier springs, cables and hardware, and they take more time to balance.
- Extent of impact damage
- A dented panel may be one section. A hard hit can bend track, pull mounting loose and damage the operator too.
- Parts availability
- Standard springs, rollers and cables are usually quick to source. Matching sections for an older door, or a model its maker no longer builds, can mean a special order and a short wait.
- Operator and safety components
- Replacing an operator, controls or reversing edges adds to the job compared with mechanical repair alone.
Overhead door questions we hear
Something not covered here? (570) 526-4929
A forklift hit our door. Can it be repaired or does it need replacing?
Often only one or two sections and some track need replacing. We look at the panels, track and mounting and tell you honestly which way makes sense. If the door is old and badly damaged, we will say so.
Only one spring broke. Do we need to replace the other one too?
In most cases we recommend it. Both springs have lifted the door the same number of times, so the one still working is near the end of its life. Changing the pair together keeps tension even across the door and spares you another service call a few weeks later.
How long will our dock door be out of service?
Many spring, cable and seal repairs are finished in one visit. Panel replacement or special-order parts take longer, and we will tell you up front so you can plan around it.
Do you work on the door operator too, or just the door?
Both. We repair and adjust operators, limits, photo eyes and reversing edges. If you are thinking about faster cycling doors for a busy opening, we can also talk about high speed doors.
What happens after the repair is done?
We show your team how to spot early wear and what habits shorten a door's life. Then we check back once the door has had some real use. If you want regular checks across your doors and dock levelers, ask about our loading dock preventative maintenance.
